On the eve of Halloween, we did a Senior Photo session with Nate. There's something very unusual in one photo that was taken of him walking through the woods by a creek. There's a large version of the photo within this article for you to inspect and see if you can discover what it is...
Unlike some of the other "double take" photos I've shown in the past, this one takes a little bit of looking to find the odd thing. Sort of a "where's Waldo" kind of thing. (You know the other day I was talking to someone who didn't know what "where's waldo meant...
)
)Anyway, here is the photo I'm talking about. If you need to see it larger, scroll down to the end of the article where all the pics are in a full screen capable viewer.

Do you see it? The only hint I'll give is it's sorta like the next pic below, but just harder to see.
This isn't the first time I've noticed wild things in my pictures after I get them on the computer and have a closer look in photoshop, but most of the time it's a lot more noticeable... like this time I was taking pics of Ashlyn...

That was really weird. Again I never even noticed it when taking the picture. Probably because I'm always busy trying to figure out what all those buttons on the camera do.
Then there was that time I was out with Alec and his Dad Marvin,

and not a one of of us even saw the huge mama moose and calf crossing the creek below. I don't think Marvin believes it was ever really there. Skeptic.

A few months after that, one of my wedding clients saw the moose photo and commented that she didn't need to see any moose in her wedding pictures. But when we did Lana and Tom's Engagement photos, I couldn't keep the bluebirds of happiness away.... pesky birds.

I've learned that when doing outdoor sessions, there are some things that you just can't control. Like wildlife. I don't know where this monkey came from. I'm pretty sure they're not native to Kansas, so it must of been an escaped pet or zoo animal...? I called Animal Control but I don't think they believed me.
And in the next photo was something even more unbelievable...

Who would of thought Nessie could be in Lake Olathe? I thought I had a scoop, but the Enquirer wasn't even interested in the photo. Oh well, I'll keep this once in a lifetime shot in my collection of favorites.
Sometimes I just get lucky with shots and the cosmos does something spectacular for the benefit of my customers and me. Like in this one...

...where the clouds form a lovely heart above newlyweds Jessica and Jason. The next photo is ME at the very moment I took the above photo....

...and you can probably see how excited I am.
The world is full of amazing phenomena, if you want to see it. Exhibit "A" below...

Sometimes my subjects are so beautiful, I guess I shouldn't be surprised when the camera catches loving cosmic energy auras beaming down from heavens.
This wasn't the only time I've photographed something like that...

...sometimes things just defy description... I told Jimmy to run and jump and all of a sudden there was a blinding bright lights. Just before I blacked out, I must of took this pic of something pulling Jimmy up into the air. When I came to, I was home again. I called Jimmy but he didn't remember anything about the incident, other than us taking some photos.
That was dramatic, but so was the time we went to Westport with Jamie & Shane...

We walked all around Westport for their Engagment session and took a ton of cool pics. I later noticed this one with familar looking charachters in the background. If one of those guys is the Walrus, he may not be dead....
But most of the time, these photographic anomalies are more subtle, like when we find amazingly appropriate graffiti in our shooting location...

... like this time when we found Savanna & DJ's names on the wall in the alley behind the wedding venue. I don't know who did that, but I bet it was those Bridesmaids watching from the balcony.

During Jasmine's session, we just happened to find a concrete wall where someone had painted her name on it...

In this four generation photo (above), someone carved the family name on the deck...

Now this shot is just pure skill - while shooting the Gardner Blazers in the 2009 State Championship Game, I timed this shot of #5 Justice Berry, with 5 seconds on the clcok behind him and an unidentified fan wearing a #5 jersey on the distant lawn.
I call it the 5-5-5 shot.

OK, I admit that the above shot is photoshopped. The little animated alter ego Jimmy character is not real and I wouldn't try to tell you it was. That would just be silly.
